This Mum Can Fitness is a gym-free personal training company based in Sale, South Manchester.  The focus is on getting women & Mums back to fitness through group training sessions at the same time and place every week, 1:1 personal training and group training sessions at a time and place suitable to you.

I FEEL MOST AT HOME...with a glass of prosecco in my hand…ideally on holiday somewhere!

I AM A MUM AND...a personal trainer, keen runner, dog owner and wife!!

THINGS THAT KEEP ME AWAKE AT NIGHT...my children!!  I’m also a bit of a stresser and list maker so I sometimes have to make lists in notes on my phone before I can actually go to sleep!


MY FIRST STEPS TAKEN TO START MY BRAND WERE...talking it through with my husband.  I’d recently been made redundant on maternity leave with my second child and I’d decided that personal training was a route I wanted to go down.  We talked it through and then a few days later I paid for my qualification and that was the start of it all.  Another great step was going out for lunch with my good friend Mia who is also an fabulous graphic designer and talking through the idea with her, talking about names, logos, etc and then she went away and designed my amazing logo!

THE HARDEST PART OF MOTHERHOOD IS...god its hard to think of just one! Dealing with children not listening to you – drives me insane!!  Another one is the sleep depravation – especially when they take it in turns to keep you awake.  Finally, not swearing in front of them! ha ha

I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT (PHYSICAL OBJECT)...my phone – especially now with the new business

MY BIGGEST RISK...this business not working out and having to go and get a normal job

MY BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT... starting this company – I started everything from scratch 6 months ago and within that, a huge accomplishment was studying for and passing my Level 2 qualification in June whilst on maternity leave which meant I could actually start the business!

MY BEST PIECE OF ADVICE...go for it and push yourself – you won’t know if you never try

AND LASTLY A PERSONAL ONE! I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS DIFFERENTLY IN MY LABOUR...I’m not sure I would have done anything differently.  I had 2 very different labours 3 years apart.  It’s pretty hellish (FYI Diamorphine is a fabulous drug!!) and I don’t think I ever want to do it again but it’s worth it and I never thought I’d say it but you do forget the pain.  If you’d asked what would I have done differently during pregnancy that would have been easy – I’d have eaten less cake!!  I put on a LOT of weight when pregnant!!
