MY NAME IS …

Caz Taylor

 MY BRAND IS…

Taylor’d Bundles

 I LIVE IN…

London

 I FEEL MOST AT HOME…

Sitting on a beach, in the sunshine with friends and family, supping yummy drinks listening to great music. I am hoping to do as much of this as possible this summer as it’s been a mad busy year already.

I AM A MUM AND…

Wife, sister, fiercely loyal friend, creative and business woman who loves to champion design and creative talent. I often see things that inspire me and I am the first to share my compliments and thoughts with the individual or company responsible (I view it as if you don’t say how much you love something, how is anyone ever going to know? I love it so much when people tell me how much they love their gift and for me, there is nothing better than sharing this feedback with the very person who created it. That is a very special part of what I do). I personally work with over 30 up and coming UK based designers and love creating new and exciting gifts for a plethora of occasions for brands and customers with even more in the pipeline for later this year.  THINGS THAT KEEP ME AWAKE AT NIGHT…

My on going to-do list. I am constantly writing lists - it’s a full time job in itself. But the feeling when things get crossed off - love it!

WHEN I GREW UP I WANTED TO BE…

Taller - seriously! 37 years young and still I only measure 4ft 11. When I was back in primary school, the school held auditions for a TV advertisement that we were all invited to attend. We were told that we simply needed to dress up in something that best described what we aspired to be. I was adamant I knew what I wanted to be, so shuffled onto the stage wearing my mums dress and heels and stood in front of the judges and claimed ‘When I get older I want to be taller’, they all rolled around laughing. I didn’t quite get what was so funny. I did want to be taller!  Alas, my dream didn’t quite come true, so I developed a love of very high heels instead (which my hips don’t thank me for, especially after having 2 kids).

MY FIRST STEPS TAKEN TO START MY BRAND WHERE...

Sourcing the best products and collaborators to join the team. It took me 2 years to find the right people to launch the business with and I am so glad that I took my time getting the mix just right. Everyone in my team not only makes fab products, but they are lovely people too. No bad apples here. From the very beginning, the individuals who joined the business were and still are as invested as me in my vision, and it shows through the beautiful gifts they create and design for Taylor’d Bundles.

3 years on and we continue curating bespoke gift packages for important and personal occasions, offering the additional ability to personalise even more items and for many, experience working directly with customers to ensure the finer details are included. I like to think that this level of detail and care is the very reason why we continue to increase our revenue year on year and why we are working with over 30 well-known brands too.

THE HARDEST PART OF MOTHERHOOD IS…

The juggling of time, and making the time I do have, count. As we all know, at times, work and the pressures that come with having your own business, can take over your life if you let it (my husband quoted back to me that I could happily work 20 hour days if I had the time to do so - ha!) so I am incredibly conscious that when people do see me, I give them proper time and they don’t just see me knackered and frantic. I really try to plan my business commitments with what my family needs/wants to do as much as possible as it’s a fear of mine that I never look back at this time and feel that my family was an after-thought.

THIS KEEPS ME SANE...

I say it again - holidays. I am constantly counting down to when I am next going away. I very much love to work hard but also play hard so knowing when the next break is happening, is what keeps me going. 45 days to the next one and it’s a trip away with the girls - Barcelona baby!

I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT (PHYSICAL OBJECT)...

My mobile - how awful is that! I can get anything done, planned, found, booked and/or organised if I’ve got my phone in hand.

MY BIGGEST RISK...

Investing a lot of money into a huge corporate pitch that we subsequently won (thankfully). I’m utterly convinced that if I hadn’t have taken the risk of investing what we did, we wouldn’t be working with the portfolio of corporate customers that we do now. It was a calculated risk - we knew that if we hadn’t had won the pitch this would have meant that other plans for the business would have had to have been delayed, but thankfully this wasn’t the case and we were able to carry on with our plans, and more.

MY BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT...

The way the business has developed over time. Recognising when we needed to change tact has been really important to keep the business evolving and growing over time. We started out as simply offering beautiful handmade gifts for babies, and now we offer gifts for a range of people, for a range of occasions and the breadth of what is available is constantly growing which I am so proud about especially when we are approached by makers and businesses directly. Wonderful.

MY BEST PIECE OF ADVICE…

Outsource anything that you can’t do. There is so much that you will come naturally to you when you start your business, but don’t spend time procrastinating over the things you can’t or really don’t want to do. You will end up wasting your time and when you start out, time is so precious so work to your strengths. Call on the help of people you know, like and trust and get them involved as there are many people who love doing tax returns and the like, my husband being one of them.

AND LASTLY A PERSONAL ONE! I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS DIFFERENTLY IN MY LABOUR…

Bought more snacks - I literally ate through my entire labour with Elliott. Now with 2 kids in tow, my whole life is about snacks ;)
