The Mum Club Featuring Milly's Kidchup
If you are like us then you LOVE tommy K. I mean we have it with just about everything (guilty!) Lauren's niece and nephew call it 'dippy' and are too obsessed, lets be honest if it makes your kids eat their veggies you'll just about squirt the stuff on anything. But did you know the stuff is FULL of added sugar. 22g per 100g in fact. Salt too 907mg per 100g. So when Milly Cundall created Kidchup, the no added sugar or salt ketchup for kids we were desperate to chat to her and try her ingenious product! A product our kids will love and it's not bad for them.. win!!!
MY NAME IS … Milly Cundall
MY BRAND IS…Milly’s Kidchup
I LIVE IN…North London
I FEEL MOST AT HOME…in the kitchen
I AM A MUM AND…an entrepreneur, a wife and a keen multitasker
THINGS THAT KEEP ME AWAKE AT NIGHT…literally everything from the day-to day to ‘OMG we’re leaving Europe!’ to what the world’s going to look like when my two year old is a young man. I’m very good at worrying.
WHEN I GREW UP I WANTED TO BE…I changed my mind a lot. I wanted to work in marketing, which I did until recently, and I also wanted to do something with my passion for cooking and getting kids eating well which I am now doing.
MY FIRST STEPS TAKEN TO START MY BRAND WERE...writing a blog post. Kidchup started as recipe I posted on my blog but then slowly evolved into a brand when word spread and people started asked me if they could buy a bottle to save the faff of making it themselves.
THE HARDEST PART OF MOTHERHOOD IS… The pressure you put on yourself alongside the guilt you feel constantly. Trying to juggle a business and home life whilst keeping your own tank any where near full is a daily struggle. The guilt is real.
THIS KEEPS ME SANE...going for a walk. 20 minutes mental and physical space can lift my mood no end.
I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT (PHYSICAL OBJECT)...my phone. Sad but true, not only is it vital for my business but it also offers a welcome distraction at times. Also my diary, I still keep a physical one, much to my husband’s frustration but I like to make notes and see how my week is unfolding in my hand.
MY BIGGEST RISK...was actually starting Kidchup and taking it from idea to a product available to buy. I blogged my whole journey from idea to launch so there was a sense of expectation which made the odds feel even higher.
MY BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT...becoming a mum. Cliched but true. We had two miscarriages before we had our son Archie and we just couldn’t count our blessings enough when he rocked up. Motherhood changes your view on everything in all sorts of ways and it really does drive me to focus on what matters in life
MY BEST PIECE OF ADVICE…Don’t be a dick. Treat others, as you’d like to be treated and collaborate, collaborate, collaborate! It helps you grow in all sorts of ways.
AND LASTLY A PERSONAL ONE! I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS DIFFERENTLY IN MY LABOUR…Absolutely nothing. I had a pretty horrific three day long labour and rather than the natural birth I wanted it was quite the opposite. Consciously embracing the decision to just roll with the punches as it became clear we were going down a very different route than planned (ha! Ha! ha!) gave me immense peace and strength to get through it all.
