The Mum Club Featuring Bump Clothing
We don't know about you, but we found dressing our bumps HARD. Especially when it came to special events. We didn't want to shell out a load of cash for an extra large dress we'd only wear once!! But we still wanted to look glam, and feel unlike the whales we had become. Enter The Bump clothing, the brilliant new hire service for maternity occasion wear. Set up by two ultra glam mummies , who know exactly what us mummers are looking for when it comes to a party frock!!!
OUR NAMES ARE:
Suzie Cueto & Geeti Jairath
OUR BRAND IS:
Bump Clothing – We provide a hire service for designer maternity occasion wear.
WE LIVE IN:
I FEEL MOST AT HOME:
S: When I’ve got my pj’s on (usually at around 4pm)
G: When I’m at home with my hair tied up, comfy clothes on, surrounded by my noisy family.
WE ARE MUMS AND:
Wives, sisters, bumpreneurs!
THINGS THAT KEEP ME AWAKE AT NIGHT:
S: Usually a three year old who still insists on coming into our bed every single night…and fake tanning, ugh!
Also thinking of ways to promote our business, making sure people know about us and how we can improve what we do. I keep my ipad next to me on my bedside table so I can offload everything – and also so I don’t forget anything!
G: Noises!!! Oh and ideas, we are just starting out so there is so much still to do to get established, all the good ideas come when you are lying in bed!
WHEN I GREW UP I WANTED TO BE:
S: I always wanted to work in Events, and for a big brand. When I moved to Manchester I bagged a job as an events coordinator at Manchester United and thought I was the dogs you-know-whats!
G: A Bollywood Actress! I like to think I still could be one day!
OUR FIRST STEPS TAKEN TO START OUR BRAND WHERE:
Trawling the internet for stock. Trying to find maternity brands that we would want to wear ourselves, rather that the boring mumsy stuff that you are forced to wear! We wanted to find brands that were special and make them accessible to everyone.
THE HARDEST PART OF MOTHERHOOD IS:
S: The responsibility! Every few months I will get a bit overwhelmed with the amount of things you need to do on a daily basis to provide the best possible life for your children, so I shout at my husband, and carry on!
G: Reminding yourself that you are doing a good job, even when you don’t feel like you are. Always good to have a girly night and get things off your chest – they usually remind you that you are a fab mum!
THIS KEEPS ME SANE:
S: Exercise, at the tender age of 30 I finally started exercising regularly, it’s a great way to escape from it all and leaves you with a clear head afterwards.
G: My husband (whilst my children send me insane!). He is always there for me to sounds off to and he gives great advice especially when it comes to business.
I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT (PHYSICAL OBJECT):
MY BIGGEST RISK:
S: Moving to Manchester when I was 23 leaving my family and friends, it turned out to be the best decision of my life.
G: Life is too short, I have taken many risks and they have all been worth it!
MY BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:
Our kids…. Not sure anything can beat that!
MY BEST PIECE OF ADVICE:
Keep trying! If you have an idea and you believe I that idea then you should keep trying until you achieve your goals! There are so many up’s and down’s but don’t give up. A great piece of advice is to follow your heart but take notes from your mind (love that!);-)
AND LASTLY A PERSONAL ONE! I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS DIFFERENTLY IN MY LABOUR:
I don’t think you can think of labour that way, you just have to go with it! Trust your body and trust the midwives and you will be fine….well fine-ish!
